do as i say, not as a i do
Who hasn’t been completely frustrated when seeing a Muni, San Francisco MTA, or other city vehicle violate the traffic code? It always seems like there is no recourse. But a couple days ago I read [yet] another blog entry about just that. Two parking control officers were taking some personal time and parking illegally while they did it. It’s not the personal time, it’s the hypocrisy.
I have seen similar behavior far more times than i can count. The very people who are supposed to enforce our laws, rules, and regulations flout them as though they have some inalienable right to do so. You do not. Neither an inalienable right, nor any legal right as it turns out.
The aforementioned blog entry resulted in raising awareness that this happens all the time. And, according to that blog entry, it also resulted in a commitment from “John Haley, the MTA’s director of transit operations who also oversees parking enforcement” to remind SF MTA employees that they, too, need to follow the traffic code.
So … this little blog is to provide a means, as time allows, to post entries about violations by city employees of city laws while they are conducting city business.
San Francisco employees gone wild.
Or, at least, behaving badly.
Just remember: it’s the hypocrisy.
